EVA Pod
Extravehicular Activity (EVA) pods are used as mobile workshops in Kubrick and Clarke’s 2001: A Space Odyssey. As they allow for maintenance to be performed on the exterior of a spacecraft, they become critically important on the spacecraft Discovery. All three of the pods aboard the Discovery (named Alice, Betty, and Clara) were self-sufficient vehicles with their own maneuvering and life-support systems.
